Indelible
I drew this bird after it crashed into my studio window and died. The backdrop is a letter written by my uncle, when he was young and apart from his father and eldest sister in Canada; a separation which lasted ten years. The title of this image references the purple carpenter's pencil I used for the outline of the bird, a pencil which I've carried with me for over twenty years — it's less than an inch long now; you can't get them anymore.
